Metal-ceramic crowns and bridges

Crowns and bridges made of metal-ceramic consist of a frame made of an alloy of chromium with nickel or cobalt, and an aesthetic part - a ceramic coating.

Positive aspects

These products are durable, can withstand heavy mechanical loads, can be easily matched to the color of the natural row of teeth, and such a crown is not afraid of dyes. In addition, it is very affordable.

Disadvantages of the material

Because of the thickness of the crown, significant tooth twisting and disculpation are required.
Not suitable for people who are allergic to metal.
Under certain light conditions, the color may change due to the metal base.
There is a risk of gengival sagging over time and the appearance of a black streak between the crown and soft tissue.

For dentures of the chewing zone, we recommend metal-ceramic crowns and bridges, although they can also be placed on the front teeth.

Zirconium oxide crowns and bridges

Zirconium crowns and bridges are a new generation of orthodontic constructions, they contain no metal base, therefore they are much lighter and thinner.

Positive aspects

Zirconium crowns have all the advantages of cermet crowns, but in addition:

Do not need depulpation and strong tooth rotation.
Hypoallergenic.
Absolutely identical in color to natural teeth, even in the light the difference is not visible.
Adheres firmly to the gums and even over time does not form a black line between the tooth and the gums.
